1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies let a site remember things about your visit, such as your preferences, or help the site understand how it is being used. Similar technologies include local storage and pixel tags, which work in comparable ways.
NaviTraveler is a route guide read in a browser. It does not require an account and does not rely on cookies to deliver its core content, but some cookies and local storage entries may still be used to make the site work well.
2. Categories of cookies we may use
We group any cookies or similar technologies used on this site into the following categories.
- Strictly necessary: needed for basic functioning, such as remembering security settings or keeping the site stable during a session.
- Preferences: remember small choices you make, such as a previously viewed walk or a display setting, so the site feels consistent between visits.
- Analytics: help us understand, in aggregate, which routes are read and how the site is used, so we can improve content and fix problems.
- Embedded third-party content: when a page includes an embedded map or flight search widget, the provider of that embed may set its own cookies when the embed loads.
3. No advertising profiles
NaviTraveler does not use cookies to build advertising profiles and does not sell cookie data or browsing data to advertisers or data brokers. Any analytics used are for understanding site performance and content usage, not for targeted advertising. Independent partners have their own cookie practices, described below.
4. How to control cookies in common browsers
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. General steps for common browsers are as follows.
- Google Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Cookies and other site data.
- Apple Safari: Settings or Preferences, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Mobile browsers offer similar controls, usually under a privacy or site settings menu. Check your specific browser's help pages for exact steps, since menus change between versions.
5. Effect of disabling cookies
You can browse NaviTraveler and read every walk with cookies disabled. Disabling cookies may mean that preference settings are not remembered between visits, and that embedded third-party content, such as a map, may not function correctly or may prompt you separately.
6. Third-party cookies
When a page includes embedded content from a third party, such as a map provider, that provider may place its own cookies in line with its own policy. NaviTraveler does not control these cookies.
Flight search is provided by Travelpayouts, an independent travel search partner. Search details and technical data are processed by the partner under its own privacy policy, and the partner may set its own cookies. NaviTraveler does not sell tickets. Prices are confirmed, and bookings and payments take place on the airline or travel agency website under that provider's terms. We may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the site evolves, for example if we add new embedded tools. We will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we make changes. Please check back occasionally if you want to stay informed.
